Anthony “Tony” Michael Romo, 77, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026.
Tony was born on January 22, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Anthony Romo and Elvira Romo. He attended Philip H. Sheridan Elementary School and later graduated from Chicago Vocational High School, where he was a member of the school’s swimming team. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from September 11, 1967, until January 21, 2009, and was honored to have served his country. During his military career, he earned numerous awards and decorations, including the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Air and Space Longevity Service Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
There are many memories of Tony that his family will always remember. One such memory was a shooting in the Arizona desert when he was sitting on a bench and was approached by two men. Tony placed his rifle on the bench, and they immediately turned around.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Romo and Elvira Romo.
He is survived by sisters, Christine Romo-Marquez (Raul) and Teresa “Terri” Romo-Helenek (Joe); brothers, David Romo (Chantal) and Robert “Bob” Romo (Patty); and his daughter, Melissa Romo. Also, by his lifetime partner, Mary Winters.
Funeral service will be held at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue in Biloxi, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors.
